The roof box should pay attention to the following matters in use.

(1) Pay attention to weight distribution

Half of the total weight of the items in the roof box should be in the middle position, and the remaining half of the weight is distributed in the front and rear positions of the roof box. This will ensure that the weight of the entire roof box can be evenly distributed to the roof rack and the body parts connected to it.

(2) Attention to overweight items

The roof box usually contains larger and lighter items, so as to free up as much space as possible in the car and control the height of the center of gravity. The total weight of the loaded items should not exceed the maximum weight that the roof can withstand. For the maximum weight that each model can withstand, please refer to the automobile instruction manual provided by the vehicle manufacturer.

(3) Attention to sliding objects

If skis are carried in the roof box, make sure that the skis are tied down with straps so that they do not slide back and forth in the roof box. It is recommended to lay down a layer of rubber mat or moisture-proof mat to increase friction.

(4) Take care to lock the box.

No matter how many items are loaded, make sure the roof box can be closed and locked. If too many items are filled in, it is easy to make the edge part of the roof box upward, when the central safety lock can not ensure that the locking points on the front and rear sides work properly, it will form a safety hazard.

(5) Pay attention to the moisture-proof items

Although the roof box has a dust, sand and waterproof performance, but its sealing is not absolute, it is recommended that the items susceptible to moisture with moisture-proof bags or plastic bags wrapped to protect them, but also clean items and dirtier items can be separated.

(6) Pay attention to the waterproofing of the box

Clean the roof box, you can directly rinse with water, washing the car with a high-pressure water gun can also be rinsed, but pay attention to control the direction of the water flow, the roof box can be rainproof, but its sealing can not withstand the high-pressure water gun from the bottom up high pressure. It is recommended to flush horizontally or from top to bottom.

(7) Attention to safety inspection

Always check the roof rack and roof box to make sure the fixing is firm and not loose. On the way of long-distance traveling, remember to check in time when resting or refueling, and tighten them in time when loosening is found to eliminate potential safety hazards.
